AOI creative concept · Maps and invented diagrams
Organize an invented transit map around one oversized knot where routes visibly pass over and under each other.
An AOI creative concept, not an established historical movement.

A closer look
Muted red, teal, ochre and charcoal; clean linework. The focal scene: four imaginary transit routes with one large traceable knot.
An invented diagram
Organize an invented transit map around one oversized knot where routes visibly pass over and under each other. The knot is the subject; the surrounding network should remain sparse enough that every strand can be followed through the crossing.
Organize the route
Draw four colored routes entering from different edges of a pale square. Bring three into a loose central knot and let the fourth bypass it. Use small gaps to distinguish over-under crossings and terminate each route at a simple dot. Keep labels absent so the viewer reads the construction through line continuity.
Check the internal logic
A tangled center with no traceable paths is clutter, not complexity. Follow each route with a finger and correct any ambiguous crossing. The bypass route should offer a clear contrast, reminding the viewer that entanglement is a deliberate choice.
Technique notes
Move the knot to one corner and stretch the bypass into a broad arc occupying most of the remaining space.
When prompting an image model, spell out the rule and visible relationships. The invented style name alone is not a reliable instruction. Compare outputs against the critique above and revise the specific failed relationship.
The prompt workshop
Original creative exercises. These prompts create new illustrations, not documentary evidence.
Start with the defining rule
Create an original illustration of four imaginary transit routes with one large traceable knot. Organize an invented transit map around one oversized knot where routes visibly pass over and under each other. The knot is the subject; the surrounding network should remain sparse enough that every strand can be followed through the crossing. Use muted red, teal, ochre and charcoal; clean linework. Keep the composition readable, with a clear focal area and quiet surrounding space. No lettering, signatures or watermark.
Build the fuller composition
Create an original Transit Knot Atlases composition. Draw four colored routes entering from different edges of a pale square. Bring three into a loose central knot and let the fourth bypass it. Use small gaps to distinguish over-under crossings and terminate each route at a simple dot. Keep labels absent so the viewer reads the construction through line continuity. Use muted red, teal, ochre and charcoal; clean linework. Preserve the defining constraint: Organize an invented transit map around one oversized knot where routes visibly pass over and under each other. Avoid decorative clutter, readable text and watermarks.
Try a deliberate variation
Create an experimental illustration based on this rule: Organize an invented transit map around one oversized knot where routes visibly pass over and under each other. The knot is the subject; the surrounding network should remain sparse enough that every strand can be followed through the crossing. Variation: Move the knot to one corner and stretch the bypass into a broad arc occupying most of the remaining space. Use muted red, teal, ochre and charcoal; clean linework. Make the changed relationship unmistakable while keeping supporting details restrained. No captions, signatures or watermark.
