Detailed Description

Johnny Bravo is an American animated television series created by Van Partible for Cartoon Network. The series centers on the title character, a muscular and boorish young man who tries to get women to date him, though he is usually unsuccessful. He ends up in bizarre situations and predicaments, often accompanied by his mother Bunny and his best friend Carl. The series was produced by Hanna-Barbera and Cartoon Network Studios. It originally ran for four seasons from 1997 to 2004. A made-for-TV film, Johnny Bravo: The Movie, was released in 2005. Reruns of the series aired on Boomerang from 2006 to 2014 and again from 2015 to 2019. In 2019, the series was revived for a new series of shorts on the Cartoon Network app. The series is notable for its pop culture references and humor. Partible drew inspiration for the series from various sources, including Elvis Presley and the character Arthur Fonzarelli from the sitcom Happy Days. The series was well-received by critics and was nominated for several awards, including three Annie Awards and two Golden Reel Awards.
