Stained glass windows have been a part of churches for centuries. They are beautiful works of art that tell stories from the Bible or depict scenes from the life of Jesus Christ. Some of the most famous stained glass windows are found in the cathedrals of Europe. The windows are made of pieces of colored glass that are held together by lead or metal frames. The glass is often painted with scenes from the Bible or with symbols that represent the different parts of the Mass. Stained glass windows were first used in churches in the Middle Ages. They became very popular during the Gothic period. Many of the greatest stained glass artists were from this time period. One of the most famous stained glass artists is Marc Chagall. He was a Russian-born artist who worked in France. His windows can be found in cathedrals all over the world, including St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. Another famous artist is Louis Comfort Tiffany. He was an American artist who is best known for his work in stained glass.
