AOI creative interpretation · Visual study
Codewave Abstraction is an AOI brief for a flowing composition governed by visible repetition and variation. Its “code” is best understood as a chosen rule for spacing, curvature or color, rather than a decorative scattering of binary characters.

Orange and gold ribbons move through teal and blue line fields. Repeated fine contours follow larger bends, while the warm passages form the clearest route across the image.
Build the visual structure
Write a simple rule before drawing: each band narrows near the center, every third contour changes color, or a curve repeats at a smaller scale. Apply it long enough to establish a rhythm, then decide whether one intentional exception improves the image. The exception should be visible as a choice rather than an accident.
Maintain a hierarchy between broad flow and fine linework. Check the composition at thumbnail size to see whether the main path survives. An AI-generated interpretation can suggest a rule without executing it exactly; for a reproducible coded work, keep the actual script and parameters alongside the exported image.
A focused studio exercise
Compare a field with constant band width against one with gradual compression. Keep the palette and overall curve unchanged so the effect of spacing is easy to judge.
Compare the studies at the same size and save the chosen prompt or process settings with each result. Keep the subject and viewing angle fixed during this test so the effect of the changed variable stays visible.

Starting study
Create an original Codewave Abstraction interpretation: three warm ribbons crossing a cool field of fine parallel contours. Repeat a simple curve with gradual spacing changes and one intentional interruption. No lettering or logos.
Composition variation
Create an original Codewave Abstraction interpretation: a monochrome wave drawing in which every third line becomes thicker. Repeat a simple curve with gradual spacing changes and one intentional interruption. No lettering or logos.
Experimental variation
Create an original Codewave Abstraction interpretation: a restrained teal and ochre flow field with one deliberate break in rhythm. Repeat a simple curve with gradual spacing changes and one intentional interruption. No lettering or logos.
