AOI creative concept · Rhythm and geometric systems
Compose a sequence of pointed triangles interrupted by broad rectangular rests.
An AOI creative concept, not an established historical movement.

A closer look
Deep green, warm cream and muted ochre; flat sharp-edged shapes. The focal scene: three directional triangles interrupted by one broad rectangular rest.
Establish the system
Compose a sequence of pointed triangles interrupted by broad rectangular rests. The triangles should direct attention, while the rests absorb it and change the pace. Neither shape family should become a uniform repeating pattern.
Place the shapes
Place three long narrow triangles pointing toward the right across a pale field. After the second, insert a broad low rectangle with enough surrounding space to slow the sequence. Let the final triangle be shorter and slightly displaced upward. Use consistent edge sharpness and restrained color differences.
Make the exception count
If every triangle touches the rectangle, the rest becomes merely a connector. Leave a visible pause around it. Avoid scattering extra small triangles to fill empty corners; the contrast between directed points and a broad stationary mass is the whole argument.
Technique notes
Arrange the shapes vertically and make the rectangular rest translucent, allowing a faint earlier triangle to remain visible beneath it.
When prompting an image model, spell out the rule and visible relationships. The invented style name alone is not a reliable instruction. Compare outputs against the critique above and revise the specific failed relationship.
The prompt workshop
Original creative exercises. These prompts create new illustrations, not documentary evidence.
Start with the defining rule
Create an original illustration of three directional triangles interrupted by one broad rectangular rest. Compose a sequence of pointed triangles interrupted by broad rectangular rests. The triangles should direct attention, while the rests absorb it and change the pace. Neither shape family should become a uniform repeating pattern. Use deep green, warm cream and muted ochre; flat sharp-edged shapes. Keep the composition readable, with a clear focal area and quiet surrounding space. No lettering, signatures or watermark.
Build the fuller composition
Create an original Triangle Rest Stations composition. Place three long narrow triangles pointing toward the right across a pale field. After the second, insert a broad low rectangle with enough surrounding space to slow the sequence. Let the final triangle be shorter and slightly displaced upward. Use consistent edge sharpness and restrained color differences. Use deep green, warm cream and muted ochre; flat sharp-edged shapes. Preserve the defining constraint: Compose a sequence of pointed triangles interrupted by broad rectangular rests. Avoid decorative clutter, readable text and watermarks.
Try a deliberate variation
Create an experimental illustration based on this rule: Compose a sequence of pointed triangles interrupted by broad rectangular rests. The triangles should direct attention, while the rests absorb it and change the pace. Neither shape family should become a uniform repeating pattern. Variation: Arrange the shapes vertically and make the rectangular rest translucent, allowing a faint earlier triangle to remain visible beneath it. Use deep green, warm cream and muted ochre; flat sharp-edged shapes. Make the changed relationship unmistakable while keeping supporting details restrained. No captions, signatures or watermark.
