Give the city a route

This AOI city is imaginary architecture, not a proposed construction system. The reviewed image works because a broad central walk directs the eye through the complex network. Transparent, thread-like strands trace tall spires and bridge arches; open air between them keeps the skyline from becoming a solid crystal mass. The visual paradox is that the streets seem substantial even though their edges look woven.

Lay out one street and a few major crossings before adding filaments. Build the towers from bundles of vertical strands and use gentler curves for the bridges. Reserve the strongest color refractions for junctions and backlit edges. A uniform rainbow over every surface would make the structural lines hard to follow; too little color would lose the prismatic premise.

Keep a human scale

Small walkers, railings or lamps help the viewer understand the imagined city's proportions. Background buildings can become paler and thinner in atmospheric haze. For a prompt, name the route, the number of major towers and the light direction. Check whether the scene reads as a navigable city at thumbnail size, then whether individual filaments remain visible in a close crop.
