Paint where the ground breaks
This is an AOI fantasy surface, not a claim that a fresco was painted on the actual Moon. The reviewed example makes its two readings coexist: from afar it is a moon disc with a serene face; near it, the material looks like rough plaster interrupted by craters and powdery pigment. The fractures and pores remove portions of the image, so the surface participates in the portrait.
Start with a large simple painted form, such as a face or branch. Lay dusty colors over a pale porous ground, then let small pits interrupt the contour. Keep one side in grazing shadow to reveal relief. Too many crisp craters would swallow the fresco; a perfectly smooth moon would lose the porous premise. A limited palette of muted blue, earth red and cream keeps the composition calm.
Use loss as a drawing tool
The most interesting areas are where pigment fades into unpainted stone and where a crater removes part of a line. Do not patch every gap. For a new image, specify the painted motif, the distribution of pores and the direction of light. Review the overall disc as an image and one rough edge as material. The fiction should remain explicit in its accompanying caption and article.

The prompt workshop
Original creative exercises. These prompts create new illustrations, not documentary evidence.
A painted disc
Create an original imagined moon-like plaster disc with a quiet fresco portrait in muted blue and rust, crater pores interrupting its pigment. No text or logo.
Porous surface
Create an original Porous Moon Fresco artwork: botanical and human motifs painted in dusty earth colors on a cratered pale sphere, one side in grazing shadow. This is fantasy, no words or logo.
Pigment in a pit
Create an original macro study of dusty fresco pigment fading around a small crater in porous pale plaster, visible brush texture and raking light. No text or logo.
