Let the hinge organize complexity

The reviewed image is an AOI invention, not evidence that a usable fan can be made from brittle obsidian threads. Its visual logic is clear: every filament starts at a small base and spreads outward. That shared origin lets hundreds of dark lines remain readable. A backlit circular sky gives the fan an even stronger radial countershape.

Begin with a semicircle and a solid dark hinge. Add a few wider ribs, then fill the space between them with thinner strands. Keep some gaps open and allow tiny reflective nodes at selected crossings. If every line is equally thick, the fan becomes a comb; if each twists independently, the center no longer organizes the image.

Separate glass from cloth

Hard highlights and sharp edges make this form distinct from silk or feathers. At the same time, too much mirror shine can flatten it into metal. Ask for a single fan, visible strand spacing, a restrained rim light and an uncluttered background. Review the silhouette first, then check whether the close view still suggests fine dark glass rather than painted lines.
