Naming clarification
Two similar names lead to two different subjects: SNK’s Neo Geo arcade platform and Neo-Geo in contemporary fine art. Choose the guide that matches the image, technique or historical context you want to explore.

If you mean games
Open Neo Geo Arcade Pixel Art for SNK’s platform, introduced in 1990, and the visual traditions of its games. Detailed sprites, readable poses and expressive animation are useful starting points. Metal Slug’s 1996 debut is a documented example, not a definition of every game on the system. If you mean fine art
Open Neo-Geo (Neo-Geometric Conceptualism) for the 1980s fine-art context and Peter Halley’s cells and conduits. MoMA’s discussion of Exploding Cell provides a concrete, attributed reference. Geometry here participates in an argument about contemporary systems; it is not simply a synonym for colourful rectangles or computer graphics.
Use the subject, not the punctuation, as the test
Writers and search engines vary spacing, hyphens and capitalization, so spelling alone cannot settle an ambiguous query. Add “arcade pixel art” or “neo-geometric conceptualism” to your search or image prompt. This retained legacy address now acts as a junction between the two guides.
