Lucidframe Logic

AOI experimental interpretation · frames, rules and controlled departures

Lucidframe Logic is an AOI working interpretation of an experimental label: a clear system of frames makes a small number of deliberate departures readable. The interest lies in how order guides, limits and occasionally yields.

A closer look

Nested frames, aligned intervals and controlled color fields establish a rule; selected overlaps, offsets or changes in scale create the composition’s turning points.

A clear rule makes a departure visible

Begin with a framing system the viewer can infer: repeated rectangles, nested openings or a sequence of aligned planes. Then introduce a limited exception. One frame may rotate, a color may cross a boundary, or a small space may unexpectedly contain a larger one.

AOI uses Lucidframe Logic as a creative framework, not as an established historical movement or a proven theory of cognition. Its usefulness depends on the image making its rule and departure legible without a long explanation.

Frames have several possible jobs

A frame can separate two views, establish depth, hold a color field or direct attention toward an opening. Give each major frame a primary responsibility. When every rectangle acts simultaneously as a window, a solid object and a border, spatial ambiguity may become accidental rather than productive.

Choose whether the composition behaves mainly as a flat arrangement or an imagined three-dimensional space. An intentional transition between the two can be compelling, but it needs a clear point at which the visual rules change.

Use color to explain the structure

Assign a small palette to the dominant system and a contrasting accent to the exception. Check the design in greyscale as well: alignment and spacing should still make its organization understandable when hue differences disappear.

Keep small frames subordinate. A dense collection of tiny compartments can conceal weak relationships among the principal elements. Simplify the arrangement until the largest three shapes carry the intended movement, then restore details that contribute a second pace.

Develop a controlled sequence

Make three versions of a room-like structure: fully aligned, slightly offset, and altered by one impossible opening. Keep the viewpoint and major proportions stable. The sequence allows the viewer to see how the exception changes the whole.

For generated images, inspect intersections and supports carefully. An accidental broken beam is not necessarily a meaningful paradox. The successful study lets a viewer distinguish the deliberate contradiction from ordinary geometric mistakes. Its clarity should survive without luminous outlines or technical-looking labels.

The prompt workshop

Original creative exercises. These prompts create new illustrations, not documentary evidence.

One shifted frame

An original abstract composition of five aligned rectangular frames, one subtly displaced, restrained cream and charcoal palette with a single orange accent, clear negative space.

A room with a rule

An invented architectural interior organized by nested frames, consistent perspective and one deliberately oversized opening, quiet daylight, no blueprint lettering.

Flat to deep

Create a composition in which a flat colored rectangle becomes a spatial opening at one clearly defined edge; maintain coherent geometry elsewhere, limited palette and no decorative clutter.
