Creative experiment · imagined maps made from vapor
Cloud Cartography draws an invented world in layered vapor. Continental shapes seem to form and dissolve above the sky, while fine routes and compass-like points give the image the logic of a map.

Soft white cloud masses suggest islands and borders across a blue aerial field. Thin golden arcs connect a few points, while mountain-like vapor and a distant sun establish scale. No geography is presented as a real place.
Map a world that cannot hold still
A map normally fixes borders so they can be read again. Clouds continually change shape. Cloud Cartography uses that mismatch as an invented AOI visual idea: a world briefly appears in vapor, then feels ready to disperse. This is fantasy mapping, not meteorology or a representation of Earth's actual continents. The pleasure comes from recognizing a map's ordering devices inside something as unstable as weather.
Start with three or four large cloud masses that can be read as a chain of islands or landforms. Leave blue channels between them. Add only a few navigational arcs, each ending at a visible point; a dense web of lines would bury the airy subject. One circular inset or compass mark can clarify the cartographic fiction without turning the image into a conventional paper chart.
Preserve the cloud texture
Some cloud edges can be crisp in bright light; others should fray into haze. Keep that variation even when adding map-like lines. In a generated image, specify the aerial viewpoint, the dominant landform-like clouds, the route count and the time of day. Check that the result is neither an ordinary satellite image nor random mist under a decorative grid. It should remain a readable invented world built from vapor.
Pocket-sized facts
Status: invented AOI creative experiment; not a documented historical movement.
Visual focus: soft white cloud masses suggest islands and borders across a blue aerial field.
The prompt workshop
Original creative exercises. These prompts create new illustrations, not documentary evidence.
An island of vapor
Create an original fantasy map of three island-like cloud masses floating over a blue aerial field. Connect them with two thin golden navigational arcs and a few compass points. Keep natural cloud edges and a calm sunlit horizon. No place names or logo.
Chart an imagined world
Create an original Cloud Cartography artwork: a wide invented continent formed from layered white vapor, blue channels between its regions and a restrained network of luminous routes. Include one circular inset made of mist. No labels, text or logo.
A storm route
Create an original map-like view of a single swirling cloud archipelago under dusk light. Let one clear route curve between two bright cloud harbors while the outer borders dissolve into haze. No text or logo.
