Original AOI concept · Embedded Geometrism
Rigid prisms live inside a moving water volume, and their visibility changes with the thickness and curvature of the wave. An invented art direction exploring what happens when a precise inner order becomes part of an irregular material.
An AOI creative concept, not an established historical movement.

An enormous curling translucent ocean wave with a stepped lattice of crystal prisms embedded within its thickness, prisms fading into blue depths and refracting coral dawn into luminous ribbons, a smooth dark rock in the foreground, poised sculptural water rather than an explosion of spray. Palette: petrol blue, sea green, coral, and silver.
The idea
Tidal Prism Geometrism imagines a wave that carries a hidden crystalline skeleton. The wave remains the main gesture: a long curl, a turning shoulder, or a broad sheet lifting from a dark sea. Inside it, a limited sequence of prisms interrupts the light. This is a deliberately impossible material relationship, offered as an original visual language rather than an explanation of ocean physics.
Build the visual language
Make the front edge transparent enough to reveal a few clean facets and allow the rear structure to dissolve into depth. Equal clarity everywhere makes water look like an acrylic display case. Petrol blue shadows, sea-green middle tones, and one coral reflection create a readable route through the image. Refraction may be interpreted poetically, but each prism should share the same broad direction of illumination.
Compose it with intention
Compose around a single sweeping curve crossed by short straight intervals. The contrast produces rhythm without requiring a swarm of floating polygons. A dark rock or a narrow horizon gives the luminous wave resistance. Avoid neon outlines tracing every facet and avoid ordinary crystals hovering above the water: the prisms must appear enclosed by its skin. A close detail can show the surface bulging over one submerged corner, turning the act of embedding into the subject.
Technique notes
Make the geometry disappear into the material at least twice; occlusion establishes embedding.
Keep one dominant geometric family and one dominant material. Refine their contact before adding detail.

A small poetic detour
Original words from the AOI studio.
Poetry
The tide keeps angles under glass,
then lets a thousand curves go past.
A prism dreams it knows the shore;
one wave revises it once more.
The prompt workshop
Original creative exercises. These prompts create new illustrations, not documentary evidence.
Start with one encounter
Tidal Prism Geometrism: a single clear wave enclosing three staggered triangular prisms against a dark sea. Original AOI Embedded Geometrism concept. Rigid prisms live inside a moving water volume, and their visibility changes with the thickness and curvature of the wave. Palette: petrol blue, sea green, coral, and silver. Prioritize convincing depth, material contact, selective concealment, and a clear focal point. No labels, watermark, border, or unrelated floating polygons.
Build a world
Tidal Prism Geometrism: a tidal arch containing a descending crystal stair, coral dawn refracted through its wall.
Push the interpretation
Tidal Prism Geometrism: an overhead tidal pool whose submerged geometry appears only through moving caustic shadows.
A smile from the studio
Jokes
The prism joined a surfing club. It was praised for its sharp turns.
The tide refuses a fixed grid: it already has enough current commitments.
