Make the field carry the likeness
This is an invented AOI image-making idea, not a demonstration that a magnetic field can independently draw a specific person. Its portrait comes from deliberate composition: grain bands bend at the brow, cheek and jaw while the empty regions describe light. The reviewed example makes the face readable before its separate particles become visible.
Begin with a single profile or three-quarter view. Let the densest grains define one eye and the nose bridge. Curve nearby ridges around the skull, then interrupt them where the cheek catches light. The sparse grains at the perimeter should feel as if the portrait is dissolving into a field rather than being cut out of a solid black mass.
Keep a human center
A perfectly regular pattern would hide the sitter; a realistic charcoal rendering would hide the grains. Use uneven ridge spacing, one calm eye and a limited tonal range to hold both identities together. In a new image, ask for a portrait pose and a direction of flow, then inspect the face at small size and the grain structure close up. Neither reading should require printed labels.
