AOI creative concept · Maps and invented diagrams
Make an imaginary map whose legend is an empty box that visibly influences the surrounding territory.
An AOI creative concept, not an established historical movement.

A closer look
Pale ochre, muted blue and ink black; flat cartographic shapes. The focal scene: an invented map bending around a conspicuously blank legend box.
An invented diagram
Make an imaginary map whose legend is an empty box that visibly influences the surrounding territory. Routes bend around it, coastlines acknowledge it and one feature almost enters it. The absence of explanation becomes a compositional fact.
Organize the route
Place a clean pale rectangle near the lower right of a softly colored invented map. Let a dark route approach the box, turn along its edge and leave again. Shape a nearby coastline to create a narrow channel between land and rectangle. Keep all text absent, including a heading for the legend.
Check the internal logic
The box must alter the map, not merely sit on top of it. If removing it leaves the same routes and coastline, redraw those relationships. Avoid implying that the missing legend conceals real information; this is an openly fictional spatial exercise.
Technique notes
Make the empty legend circular and allow one route to disappear beneath it, reappearing on the opposite side at a deliberately shifted position.
When prompting an image model, spell out the rule and visible relationships. The invented style name alone is not a reliable instruction. Compare outputs against the critique above and revise the specific failed relationship.
The prompt workshop
Original creative exercises. These prompts create new illustrations, not documentary evidence.
Start with the defining rule
Create an original illustration of an invented map bending around a conspicuously blank legend box. Make an imaginary map whose legend is an empty box that visibly influences the surrounding territory. Routes bend around it, coastlines acknowledge it and one feature almost enters it. The absence of explanation becomes a compositional fact. Use pale ochre, muted blue and ink black; flat cartographic shapes. Keep the composition readable, with a clear focal area and quiet surrounding space. No lettering, signatures or watermark.
Build the fuller composition
Create an original Blank Legend Territories composition. Place a clean pale rectangle near the lower right of a softly colored invented map. Let a dark route approach the box, turn along its edge and leave again. Shape a nearby coastline to create a narrow channel between land and rectangle. Keep all text absent, including a heading for the legend. Use pale ochre, muted blue and ink black; flat cartographic shapes. Preserve the defining constraint: Make an imaginary map whose legend is an empty box that visibly influences the surrounding territory. Avoid decorative clutter, readable text and watermarks.
Try a deliberate variation
Create an experimental illustration based on this rule: Make an imaginary map whose legend is an empty box that visibly influences the surrounding territory. Routes bend around it, coastlines acknowledge it and one feature almost enters it. The absence of explanation becomes a compositional fact. Variation: Make the empty legend circular and allow one route to disappear beneath it, reappearing on the opposite side at a deliberately shifted position. Use pale ochre, muted blue and ink black; flat cartographic shapes. Make the changed relationship unmistakable while keeping supporting details restrained. No captions, signatures or watermark.
